Match.com Sued Over Second Date Assault
Today ABC news shared the basic details about a court case against Match.com by a female member of their service. In a nutshell, the female met a gent off the site, and was sexually abused by him on their second date. After pressing charges, the woman found out the man in question has a history of similar offenses and she feels Match.com should have protected her. The lawsuit hopes to stop Match.com (Buy Direct) from accepting new members until they start screening candidates for any history of sex crimes.
What do you think? Should dating sites be legally mandated to run criminal record checks on all of their members to keep their singles safe? Or is it our responsibility to vet potential dates and mates and date safely?
