Readers’ Choice Award Nominations
A few years ago, About.com’s Guide to IM started his own Readers’ Choice Awards, where the most devoted IM fans nominated, and then voted, on a plethora of their favorite things, all related to Instant Messaging. Two years later, more than fifty About.com Guides are taking part – along with me, your Guide to Dating.
The first year of any awards program is always a bit arbitrary, in that the categories are ones the person ‘in charge’ decides. I’ve got quite a few to choose from – nominate someone in all categories, just one, or any combination that works for you – but I may have missed a few. Feel free to email me if you think I should add another next year.
Our categories for this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards for Dating, are:
- Best New Dating Site of 2010
- Best Overall Dating Site
- Best Free Dating Site
- Best Niche Dating Site
- Best Dating-Related App
- Best Dating-Related Blog
- Best Dating-Related Book of 2010
There are also a few other categories and sites with dating-related nomination categories:
- Manhattan‘s Best Cheap Date Spot and Most Romantic Restaurant
- Email‘s Best Social Network Messaging
- Web Search‘s Best Social Media Site
- Hotel and Resorts‘ Most Romantic Hotel or Resort
Denver‘s Best Date Restaurant
There are however lots of other categories that aren’t dating-related, so be sure to vote for your favorites. Nominations for the 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards have now closed, but stay tuned via RSS or the newsletter to hear which dating sites, books, blogs, and apps made the finals.
