Charlotte is the largest city in North Carolina with an estimated population of 687,456 in 2008, which is currently the 18th largest city in America. Charlotte is set at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, and an approximate 3 hour drive from the Atlantic Ocean. Charlotte is located in between Raleigh and Atlanta, Georgia.
