All You Need Is Love And Psalm 117

Psalm 117 reads as follows from the NIV version of the Bible:

1 Praise the LORD, all you nations; 
extol him, all you peoples.

2 For great is his love toward us, 
and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. 
Praise the LORD.

The vision of this psalm is that the Love of the Lord is draped over things through all nations.

Sometimes we all get so immersed in our own little spot and our own things that we don’t think and imagine that it is also a great big wide world out there.

The great and enduring love of the Lord continues and extends through all borders and indeed all times.

Travel is as big an industry as it ever was historically as with air flight and advanced means of travel people can go anywhere.

Part of the excitement of travel is that a foreign land is so unfamiliar and you might not know who you will meet and what you will see.

But the beauty of the Lord is everywhere and the love of the Lord seen and evidenced through other people everywhere and anywhere.

Just as the sunshine will meet and greet you anywhere, love will meet you and greet you anywhere you go.

People wouldn’t travel as extensively as they do if they didn’t hope to experience a little bit of love in their travels. This is to where the world opens up itself to the individual with new and fresh signs of love.

Love is everywhere and the call is to extol and praise the Lord and his faithfulness throughout all lands and all peoples.

All people are joined together and united in this thread of love and the call to love.

Through the lowlands and the highlands, through every corner of the earth you can find love.

Psalm 119 verses 63 and 64 read as follows from the NIV version of the Bible:

63 I am a friend to all who fear you, 
to all who follow your precepts.

64 The earth is filled with your love, O LORD; 
teach me your decrees.

The earth is filled with the love of the Lord and there is a unity of friendship with all who follow this love.

Just as the great oceans are filled with what seems like an unending amount of water, so the earth is filled with an unending amount of love.

In 1967 the Beatles released a relatively short song that fits beautifully with the theme of this psalm.

The title of the song is All You Need Is Love and the song speaks of the unifying presence of love to all.
