Lonely Italian Angel

I think everyone that meets my friend Guilietta describes her as an Italian angel. I know that sounds a bit contrived, but I’ve personally heard her described that way, using those exact words, more than a few times. There’s really no reason for her to be lonely except that after recent events she’s become very picky. Only in the past couple of weeks have I been able to convince her to try some Italian Dating sites.

I swear that the words “Italian angel” are really the only way to describe this woman, especially when were talking about finding her Italian fantasy man. That ideal is really what she’s all about. When it comes to romance she only considers other Italians. She’s fiercely proud of her family’s heritage and, while she speaks perfect English, she says she’s really only herself when she can communicate in her mother tongue.

She is also, really, angelic. It’s not an adjective I use often, but the woman just exudes kindness. I really don’t think I’ve ever met a more compassionate, caring person. She always knows how to cheer people up, never needs to be asked and has a semi-magical knack for showing up just at the right time.

There is really no reason whatsoever that she would have a hard time meeting other Italians or finding a whole host of guys trying to learn the language. I think the only reason that she’s lonely these days is because she been through some really bad relationships. I guess there are a lot of people out there that have no problem with taking advantage of someone’s kindness. It’s heartbreaking, though, to actually see someone treated so badly. I think when you’re as kind-hearted as my friend the Italian angel it just hurts to say “no” to people, so it takes a really long time for her to free herself from a bad situation.

To my friend’s credit, she hasn’t gotten bitter. She’s just a bit cautious and I think this is understandable considering what she’s been through. She won’t admit it to most people, but you can see she’s a bit lonely these days. It’s going to be hard for her to find someone perfect for her, but I think a matchmaking agency might be a really good way for her to get started.
