New Guiness World Record: Most Expensive Dessert
Associated Press announced yesterday that a New York restaurant by the name of Serendipity 3 now holds the world record for the most expensive dessert in the world as designated by the Guinness Book of World Records.
The $25,000 slushy treat is made of cocoa from twelve different countries, milk, five grams of 24 carat gold, whipping cream and shaved truffle pieces from a La Madeline au Truffle, and is served with a take-home gold spoon and a goblet encrusted with diamonds and laced with gold.
Now, this dessert may be well outside of most our pocketbooks, but surely some people are taking their sweeties to indulge. If you had the money, would you take your date to dine like this? Are there other extravagances that you or your loved one have bestowed upon each other or would with the right amount of money?
